Technical Project Lead

Key Responsibilities: -

  • Continuously demonstrate a high-performance culture approach to the successful delivery of projects.
  • Deliver client and internal projects to agreed cost, quality and time whilst demonstrating PurpleSector’s value-add.
  • Build strong sustainable relationships to meet agreed success criteria, ensuring positive client experiences.
  • Provide leadership and energy to internal project teams and partners.
  • Translate advanced digital, data, software and/or technology theory and practice into tangible project outcomes in a leading-edge technology environment.
  • Rigorously and pro-actively manage scope, cost, schedule, risk and opportunity.
  • Apply efficient and effective project management governance, proactively drive change and continuous improvement activities.
  • Ensure talent and resources are planned, prioritised and balanced to achieve project objectives.
  • Support preparation of proposals for new projects, ensuring projects are set-up to succeed.
  • Ensure business case benefits are delivered and PurpleSector growth opportunities are realised.
  • Lead effective and efficient client and internal project reviews.
  • Pro-actively provide forward-looking internal and external project reporting.
  • Ensure a culture of ‘pace’ is felt by clients and all stakeholders.
  • Ensure all team members are working in a sustainable, healthy and safe environment. 

General Requirements

  • Technical degree is preferred (desirable) or equivalent work experience, i.e. Engineering or Data Science.
  • A passion for motorsport.
  • Strong technical background – Anticipating, adopting and developing innovations in digital, data, software and/or technology applications.
  • Client-centric - Natural desire to develop opportunities with clients and exceed client expectations.
  • Project and operational management skills – Uses leading KPIs and critical success factors alongside business systems and processes to drive successful outcomes.
  • Commercial and Financial acumen - Demonstrable experience of financial management and commercial negotiation.
  • Willingness to travel, anywhere in the UK or overseas. Some projects will require more travel than others. Travel can fluctuate and sometimes be at short notice.
  • Manages complexity - Makes sense of complex, high quantity, and contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
  • Able to build partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives. Internally and externally.
  • Experience of Smart Factory projects or technologies would be desirable.
  • Drives engagement - Creates a climate where people are engaged, energised, enthusiastic and motivated to deliver project objectives.
  • Decision quality - Makes good and timely decisions that keep projects moving forward.
